Portfolio Updates

Firstly I must apologise for the delay in posting although this site is yet to establish a community. Since I last welcomed you to Lee Allen portfolio I have been extremely busy at work, along with coding updates and features to this release of the portfolio and having a limited social life.
This latest release of the online portfolio software includes a much refined and improved version of the code allowing faster functioning and page loading. There are many new and improved functions which replace the initial release functions including an output control script designed to process all database output requests through one line of code. Along with minor bug fixes there has also been some content tweaks for long term SEO benefits plus a few aesthetic changes for my own pleasure.
In terms of next steps within the system I have a never ending “to do” list but some of my priorities include:
- MySQL database restructure – The MySQL database tables and fields need restructuring to use related names in order to further refine the code and allow a deeper level of automation.
- Output method enhancement – The output control function can be further improved to give a greater level of flexibility to the user.
- Widgets - The widget control function is partially integrated to the template system but needs completing in order for the CMS to control each element as a widget.
- Blog functionality – The Lee Allen Blog requires a few additions before it is a fully functioning Blog which were placed on hold due to more pressing issues.
- Widget grouping – This allows multiple widgets to be grouped as one widget.
This is far from the end of the list but I thought I would update in stages. One day I might even get around to populating this site with actual portfolio content.
